Today is my “little” sister’s birthday. As youngsters we tortured each other. (Ok, I tortured her.) But as an adult, there are few people I care about more than her. There’s nothing like the bond between sisters!
And in the context of a blog largely about identity, sisters speak the truth about who you are, and have the authority to do so! Sisters double your wardrobe, and make sure you always look great before you leave the house.
Sisters giggle late into the night with you because they get your sense of humor. Sisters always buy the perfect presents for you. Sisters always have your back – even if you are wrong! And sisters are always up for an adventure, no matter how crazy it may sound.
My sister is my biggest fan and biggest critic, and wise enough to know when to be each. She knows all of my flaws, and loves me anyway. She is passionate. She is intelligent. She is witty. She is talented. She is my best friend. Happy birthday Kelly Linn!! I love you and miss you! And GO HAWKS!!
Karen- Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your posts. I share them with my friends and also Julianna who is now 12. She attends a Soul Sisterhood retreat through our church and says that your writtings remind her of the retreat. I hope all is well with you and Hank. Thank you for sharing! Robyn

Wow, thank you so much Robyn! That was my hope when I began blogging and speaking – that people would find encouragement and maybe even a new way to think about life. I’m honored and touched that you are sharing them with friends and humbled that Julianna finds them relevant and reminiscent of retreats she’s attended! Thanks again for your kind words – what a blessing! ~Karen
